At the New River 2 desert shooting spot

Come on out for some fun handgun hunting practice! Bring your favorite centerfire hunting handgun(s), at least 50 rounds of hunting ammo. Any caliber is ok, jacketed ammo is ok, but FULL METAL JACKET ammo will not be allowed! Be there at 8:15 AM.
Official event begins promptly at 8:30 AM.

This handgun field shoot is held on a natural terrain course. A number of realistic handgun hunting situations are set up with shots at game animal targets at varying distances and difficulties. Squads of shooters move from station to station trying the various targets. Like a hunt, there will be no practice before!

Targets will be reactive, all in animal shapes, at javelina-hunting distance - OK, there's always gonna be one at almost ridiculous range. Three shots per animal. Except for that long-range critter, your first shot will be unsupported, then sitting and/or support sticks/bipods are allowed.

It would be very nice if some of you come early to help set up.

Definitely bring your binoculars, ear and eye protection, and your own drinks and refreshments. Everybody should also bring a holster for their hunting handgun.
